The Veterinary Information Network, the world’s largest news and information resource for veterinary professionals, is seeking a journalist to join our news service on a permanent, full-time basis.

Whether reporting on creatures large, small, domestic or wild, disease outbreaks, medical advances, education, research or hospital ownership, the VIN News Service strives to provide coverage of unparalleled precision and depth for the veterinary community and the public.

The ideal candidate for this remote position will have at least three years’ experience as a staff reporter at a local, national or international newspaper, newswire, magazine or respected trade publication. Experience writing about medicine, education or science is desired but not essential.

We’re looking for someone who knows how to communicate complex concepts in an engaging manner, always to deadline, and with the balance and pinpoint accuracy deserved by the global veterinary community.

In return, we offer the opportunity to join a smart, friendly and highly motivated team and a salary of $58,000 to $75,000 DOE.

VIN benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent care and a 401(k) with company match. Vacation and sick time start accruing on your first day.

Applicants are invited to submit a resume, three recent clips and a message introducing yourself to newseditors@vin.com. Applications received by Sept. 20 will receive priority review.

The VIN News Service is advertiser-free, supported by the dues of more than 100,000 VIN members around the world. VIN News articles and podcasts are freely accessible to the public. Learn more about us
