Dr. John Hubbell takes the reins of The Ohio State University's veterinary medical program as interim dean.

He replaces former Dean Thomas Rosol, effective July 1, and has agreed to stay on until university officials hire a permanent successor, officials say.

Hubbell, a professor in the college's Department of Clinical Sciences and equine anesthesiologist, was appointed following Dr. Rosol's resignation amid allegations of a personnel dispute. The former dean served as the program's head since 2005. He will continue to work at the college as special assistant to the senior vice president for research as well as a professor in the Department of Veterinary Biosciences.
