Access

Do I have to be a VIN member to access my proceedings?

No.
VIN is the proceedings partner. The proceedings are formatted and hosted by VIN.
You do need to be a registered attendee of the conference.

How do I establish my username/password?

As a conference attendee you will receive an email giving you instructions on how to create your own username and password. If you are a VIN/VSPN member or have a username/password for a previous VIN-hosted proceedings, you may use that same username/password.

I forgot my username.

VIN takes security very seriously. We are able to help you with your username if you email or phone. We cannot provide you with your password by email or phone.

If you have forgotten your password, you may use this link to reset it: https://beta.vin.com/PasswordReset.

When does my proceedings access begin?

Proceedings are typically released to conference attendees 1-2 weeks prior to the beginning of the conference.

Proceedings access is typically limited to conference attendees until 3-6 months after the conference (depending on the conference). If you are a VIN Member and were an attendee at a conference but you don't see the proceedings in the VIN Library, you will need to access the proceedings via the direct link provided as part of your conference registration during this period.

When does my proceedings access expire?

Never. All proceedings hosted on VIN are available in perpetuity. Once you have access, you will always have access.

I registered late or on-site for the conference but I can't get into the proceedings.

Proceedings access is set up using registrant lists provided by the conference a week or more before the start of the conference.

If you register late or on-site, you will receive an email with instruction explaining how to set up your access as soon as the conference staff are able to provide a list of on-site registrants to VIN.

On-site registrants can set up access by visiting with VIN staff at a Cyber Cafe (for conferences with a VIN Cyber Cafe) or by contacting VIN directly at 800-700-4636 or proceedings@vin.com.

Searching/Sorting

What's the difference between the Search page (banner tab) and the Search box above Table of Contents?

The search box above the table of contents allows you to start a broad search.  If your results from that search are not narrow enough, the search tab (or the refine search button) allows you to refine your search criteria.

Can I search by session title?

Yes, you may put in key words from the session title.  If this does not bring up the results you desire, modify your search using the 'Refine Search' button from the search results page.

Can I search by speaker?

Yes. The "Browse by Speaker" link on the left side menu will bring up an alphabetized list of all conference speakers and a link to the proceedings for each speaker.

I have a question about thumb drives, CDs, printed, or other versions of the proceedings.

VIN Cyber Cafe personnel can try to help with these questions but these other formats are not provided by VIN. Conference staff will have the most accurate information. Someone at the conference registration desk should be able to help.
