This course addresses handling and concerns within the Florida veterinary setting when dispensing drugs products. Topics include license and registration requirements, proper handling of controlled and non-controlled substances, and violations and penalties associated with deviations. To earn a certificate of completion the participant must complete all learning modules and score 80% or better on the end-of-course test. Completion of the course will take a minimum of 66 minutes. Participants must complete the participation requirements by December 31, 2022 to be eligible for a certificate. Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
- determine license and registration requirements.
- implement a secure ordering system.
- discuss security and recordkeeping requirement for controlled substances.
- implement proper prescription writing.
- package, label and dispense medications safely.
- determine how to dispose of a drug product.
- determine where in Florida law they can find information about violations and penalties.
- discuss specific penalties associated with violations of Florida laws and regulations.
