In this course, we will discuss health risks associated with obesity in dogs and cats; nutritional assessments for obese and overweight patients, including dietary history, body condition score, and muscle condition score; and a step-by-step approach to the overweight or obese patient. We will also discuss case examples. To earn a certificate of completion the participant must complete all learning modules and score 80% or better on the end-of-course test. Completion of the course will take a minimum of 145 minutes. Participants must complete the participation requirements by June 30, 2022 to be eligible for a certificate. Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to
- identify health risks associated with obesity in dogs and cats.
- review the nutritional assessment process for the obese or overweight patient.
