COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course in Veterinary Dental Techniques is designed to allow discussions of current techniques used in veterinary dentistry. Veterinarians practicing all levels of veterinary dentistry are invited to participate, from the veterinarian just interested in getting more information in veterinary dentistry to the Board Certified Veterinary Dentist.
The third module will focus on the prevention and treatment of periodontal disease by prophylaxis, therapy and surgery.

Week 1 (11/6):
Chapter 5, p 233 - 264
Periodontal debridement, perioceutics, gingivoplasty, periodontal flap techniques (Holmstrom)
Week 2 (11/13):
Chapter 6, p 291 - 306
Indications for exodontia, instrumentation for exodontia, simple extraction techniques (Kressin)
Week 3 (11/20):
Chapter 5, p 264 - 290
Soft tissue grafting, management of bone defects, guided tissue regeneration & bone grafting, periodontal splinting, tight lip surgery (Matson)
Week 4 (11/27):
Chapter 6, p 306 - 338
Surgical extraction techniques, multiple root extractions, techniques for specific teeth, exodontic complications, oronasal fistula repair (Kressin)

COURSE WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND POLICY: Withdrawal prior to the listed start date of a course entitles the registrant to a complete refund or a credit toward a future VIN CE course, whichever is preferred. Withdrawal within 1 week after the listed start date (i.e. including no more than one real-time session) entitles the registrant to a credit toward any future VIN CE course. (Does not apply to courses with only one real-time session.) After the first real-time session, a registrant may withdraw due to special circumstances and receive prorated credit towards a future VIN course. These requests will be handled on an individual basis. The amount of the prorated credit will be determined based on 65% of the time remaining in the course at the time of withdrawal.
